The Via Ferrata at Mount Norquay in the Banff National Park is ideal for those of us who need some adrenaline, but also a bit of a safety net.
Via Ferrata allows you to experience the thrill of rock climbing whilst attached to a safety line and route to assist you as you move up the mountain.
The Via Ferrata in Banff is ideal for tourists as guests are provided with boots, a rain jacket, rain pants and even a backpack if they don’t have their own. You can walk in off the street and still be able to do it. Snacks and water (and other beverages) can be purchased on-site before your climb.
There are 4 Via Ferrata Routes to choose from: Explorer, Ridgewalker, Skyline, or Summiteer.
The Explorer route is ideal for those who are slightly limited on time or are looking for an intro to Via Ferrata with the Ridgewalker route posing a greater challenge of a half day excursion.
The longest and most daring route is the Summiteer with mind blowing 360-degree views of the Canadian Rocky Mountains as you enjoy lunch on the East Summit of Mt Norquay.
