The Via Ferrata in the Magaliesberg has been built and maintained by Shelter Rock, one of the first Via Ferratas in South Africa.
This is a very easy via ferrata and at a level where any moderately active person would be able to enjoy the course. Shelter Rock provides all the required gear and also briefs all climbers head of the climb.
After a short hike, climbers will ascend from the cliff face using the “iron stairs” and course the has been erected which leads you to the summit of the beautiful Magaliesburg. Once on the mountain you can enjoy some of the local “monuments” in the form of some old Boer Forts, Balancing Rocks and the Spire Garden whilst hiking back to the base camp.
Climbers also have the option to Abseil down the Magaliesberg cliff face to add a little bit more adventure to the experience.
