Starigrad is also a starting point of the Paklenica National Park integrating the beautiful mountains and sea views into one. Its sandy white beaches appeal to sun seekers and families alike, while the mountain Velebit and NP Paklenica are regularly visited by cavers and lovers of hiking and free climbing.

In an area spoilt for choice, the river Zrmanja offers great rafting options for either canoeing or kayaking. The old part of town is rich in archaeological finds and architectural monuments such as the famous Villa Petar Hektorović.
