Mýrdalsjökull is a glacier in the south of Iceland known for being on top of one of Iceland’s most explosive volcanos, Katla.
Mýrdalsjökull is the country’s fourth largest ice cap, covering nearly 600 square kilometres and tallest peak stands 1500 meters tall. The area is known for its natural beauty, lots of rain and is visited by hundreds of hikers, climbers and snow enthusiasts every year.
